The West Hants Trails Association has funding to support volunteers who wish to attend courses and events that will increase capacity to lead trail events or to develop trails. The purpose is to increase the number of volunteers with the appropriate training to meet the objectives of WHTA. A variety of courses and events will be considered for funding, including: OCC Field Leader, Wilderness First Aid, Re-connecting with Nature and the NS Trails Federation Hiking Summit.
To apply for funding, the completed Leadership Training Application Form may be submitted by email to westhantstrails@gmail.com or by mail to WHTA Secretary Kathy Aldous, RR#1 Newport, B0N 2A0.
Funding is available for this initiative through a Regional Development Grant from the Active Living Branch of NS Department of Health and Wellness.
